In Memoriam - In Harmony Ladies Choir

The choir suffered a great loss in April 2026 with the death of Christine Stuart.

Christine had been a member of In Harmony since 2013, singing at different times in both alto and second soprano sections. She also served as Chair of the management committee for more than 10 years, making sure that the choir's business was well run and our mission to share the joy of music was delivered.

When the choir was looking for a new Musical Director in 2019, following the death of the previous MD Margaret Garvey, Christine offered to ask her husband John to step in. John Stuart has been our Musical Director ever since, taking our repertoire and performances to new heights.

Members of the choir were privileged to sing for Christine at St. Leonard's Hospice in the final days of her life, and to sing at her funeral. We shall miss her in the choir and on the committee, but we will never forget her as we rehearse and perform in the choir that was such an important part of her life.
